Sal Di Santo is the founder of Licensing Compliance Associates, LLC.  Sal has 25 years of experience in both royalty and licensing accounting and intellectual property management.  His career includes the development and implementation of licensing management and royalty accounting processes for Hasbro, Inc. an international toy and game company with revenues of several billion dollars.

 

Sal has significant experience with all reporting and analytical requirements as contained within the contracts of the major licensing companies in industries such as entertainment, publishing, video and on-line gaming, sports, music, etc.

He has an in-depth knowledge of intellectual property reporting and contractual compliance requirements of many licensing industry leaders including Walt Disney, Co., Marvel Characters, Inc., DreamWorks Animation, Lucas Licensing, LTD., and Paramount Pictures, Inc.

 

Over the years Sal has successfully negotiated resolutions to audit claims by major auditing firms while preserving the licensing partner relationship. He has experience in licensee audits in a variety of consumer product industries including  apparel, publishing, home goods and electronics, and digital gaming.

 

Sal has played a major role in several licensing and royalty software upgrades and conversions which included integration of acquisitions. He also developed and implemented a comprehensive package of business processes and testing procedures relating to licensing and royalty accounting to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations. Sal has also provided financial analysis for litigation support and expert witness testimony relating to licensing law suits.

  Sal is a graduate of Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major concentration in Accounting in 1977. He also achieved a Masters of Business Administration with a major concentration in Marketing in 1983. He is a long time member of both the Providence Chapter of The Institute of Management Accounting and of the Licensing International Merchandising Association.
